Precautionary Boil Water Advisory in effect. Representatives from the New Mexico Environment Department agree that a Precautionary Boiled Water Advisory for SLP serves as a watchful reminder to homeowners should they feel the water quality may compromise their health. It has been initiated due to the increasing system problems, and difficulty to quickly alert our community of a potential health hazard.

An advisory does not mean that the water is contaminated. Our water is tested once a month. We have had compromised samples in the past due to unknown causes. Water can become contaminated at any time due to various system problems.

If a contamination occurs, a Boil Water Notice will be issued as soon as the problem is confirmed.  During a Notice, all customers must boil their water before consuming it or use bottled water.
